Studio session with the Nikon Z7II and the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S lens

Saturday, March 8th 2025 was International Women’s Day. What better way to celebrate than with a studio portrait session on the same day with a powerful model Tori. I think the message that comes across with this portrait is power. To learn more, go to https://www.internationalwomensday.com/

I don’t normally comment much about the lighting I use when in the studio. Well, it’s not fancy: 2 Nikon SB5000 Speedlights mounted on a double cold hot shoe bracket on a cheap Impact light stand. The light modifier is an umbrella, not sure the size but it’s fairly large. Sometimes I use a hair light setup on the opposite side of the umbrella, which I regret not doing for this session.

The Z7II with the Nikkor Z S 1.8 primes continues to be a very effective studio setup.
